These are more of a guideline than a rule, but please do your research before choosing a prefix/suffix that isn't listed here. If the animal or object you are trying to use wouldn't be known to cats, it will not be allowed.
Prefixes BIRDS: Robin - Typically used for calico cats, but can also be used for orange or brown cats.Thrush - Used for brown cats, or cats with spotting. Finch - Almost exclusively used for calico cats or torties, but can also be used for tabby cats. Starling - A dark blue-gray, black, or tortie cat. Hawk - A brown or golden tabby cat. Eagle - A black and white, brown, or golden tabby cat. Heron - A gray or gray and white cat. Owl - Can be used for pretty much any color of cat. Falcon - A brown or golden tabby cat. Sparrow - A brown, brown and white, or tortie cat. Magpie - A black and white cat. Lark - A calico or black and white cat. Pigeon - A brown, gray, or white cat. Mockingbird - A brown, gray, or white cat. Crow - A black cat. Raven - A black cat. Jay - A blue-gray cat. Towhee - A calico or tortie cat. ANIMALS: Bear - A black or brown cat, or a cat who was born especially large.Fox - An orange cat. Raccoon - A brown cat, or a cat with Siamese facial markings. Skunk - A black and white cat. Coyote - A reddish brown, brown, or gray cat. Squirrel - A reddish brown, ginger, or brown cat. Chipmunk - A brown cat, or a cat who was very small at birth. Beaver - A brown cat, typically with a solid coat. Wolf - A brown, black, white, gray, or reddish brown cat. Rabbit - A gray or brown cat. Hare - A gray or brown cat, typically with long legs. Deer - A brown or reddish brown cat. Shrew - A brown cat, or a cat that was small at birth. Vole - A brown or gray cat, or a cat that was small at birth. Mole - A brown cat. PATTERN: Spot(ted)- A cat with spots.Stripe(d) - A tabby cat. Patch(ed) - A patched or calico cat. Fleck(ed) - A tortoiseshell cat. Speckle(d) - A tortoiseshell cat. Dapple(d) - A tortoiseshell or calico cat. PATTERN: Flick(er) - A lightly colored or pale cat.Heavy - A large cat. | Suffixes Berry - A cat who has an affinity for herbs and a skill for healing. Should really only be used for medicine cats, however, it isn't the only suffix they can have. Bird - A cat who is graceful, swift, and agile. Blossom - A cat who is feminine, motherly, or pretty. Brook - A cat who is good a swimming, or who is agile/fast. Briar - A prickly cat. Claw - A cat who exhibits very skilled fighting abilities. Cloud - A cat with a soft, shy, or kind personality. Or a cat with a soft, feathery pelt. Creek - A cat who is soft, agile, or feminine. Ear - A cat who has a distinctive feature on their ear. Eye - Pretty much exclusively used for blind cats or cats who have something wrong with their eyes/vision. Face - A very attractive cat. Fang - A cat who is good at hunting or fighting, or who is very charismatic. Flower - A feminine or pretty cat. Flight - A very swift or fast cat. Feather - A feminine/motherly cat, or a cat with soft fur. Foot - A swift cat, or a cat who has a distinctive feature on their foot. Frost - A cat who has a frosty or cold disposition. (Cannot be used with the prefix Frost.) Fur - A cat who has no noticeable skills or traits. (Cannot be used with the prefix 'Fir'.) Heart - A passionate or loyal cat. Jaw - A can who has very strong jaw-power, or a cat who has received an injury to the jaw. Leaf - A feminine cat, or a cat who has extreme skill in healing and using herbs. Leap - A cat with powerful legs that can jump further than the average cat. Nose - A cat who has very good tracking abilities. Patch - A cat who is patched. (Cannot be used with the prefixes: Dapple, Patch, Spot, Fleck, Stripe, Speckle, Flick.) Pelt - A cat who has no noticeable skills or traits. Pool - A very calm and serene cat. Poppy - A cat who is very good at healing and using herbs. Spot - A cat who is spotted.(Cannot be used with the prefixes: Dapple, Patch, Spot, Fleck, Stripe, Speckle.) Step - This must always be paired with an animal prefix, and is used to describe a cat's gait. Storm - A cat with a brooding or unpredictable personality. Stream - A cat who can swim well, or a cat who has soft features. Strike - A cat who excels in battle. Stripe - A cat who has stripes. (Cannot be used with the prefixes: Dapple, Patch, Spot, Fleck, Stripe, Speckle.) Tail - A cat who has a good sense of balance, or who is agile. Or perhaps a cat who has a noticeable feature on their tail. Talon - A cat who excels in battle. Thorn - A cat with a prickly or tough personality. Whisker - A cat who excels in hunting. |
