Rather sadly, a lot of Rainstar’s family and close friends perished, either during the Great War or prior to it due to various accidents and illnesses, and being an irascible old lady she doesn’t have a great many casual friends. Nevertheless, there are some Clanmates that she’s close to, and I’d love it if those guys could be played out, Nightstrike in particular. The images are suggestions only – you can pick other similar ones if you like. If you want to adopt any of these guys, just let me know and I’ll mark them as reserved for you so you can make their bios.
Nightstrike

Nightstrike is Rainstar’s closest and longest-running friend, having been her close companion since not long after she became a warrior. Their relationship has romantic elements and he was the father of her only littler of kits, but it’s mostly non-physical now and certainly isn’t exclusive; Rainstar has no issue with him fathering others’ kits. He is a serious, quiet and gentle cat who is unexpectedly ferocious and deadly in battle; he’s claimed the lives of many of ShadowClan’s enemies, though never in cold blood; he’s no murderer. He is the one on whom Rainstar depends the most both for practical advice and emotional support – they’ve been through a lot together.

Rosethorn is Rainstar’s only surviving former apprentice, the other two having both perished during the War, and the last moon or so of her apprenticeship occurred after Rainstar had become ShadowClan’s leader. Rainstar was impressed by the young cat’s diligence and strict adherence to the Warrior Code, and did all she could to help Rosethorn’s potential flourish. The pair developed a firm bond that continues to this day, and Rosethorn is one of the few cats that Rainstar shares her plans and strategies with. She has not mentioned it aloud, but she is grooming the younger she-cat as a potential future leader. Rosethorn is a very courageous and competent she-cat with a very quick mind, though she finds social situations where she is expected to mingle with those she does not know intimidating and can come across as nervous.

This grand old lady is Rainstar’s mother, and she has been around for a long, long time. In her youth she was rather arrogant and given to boasting, proud of having given birth to so many healthy kits, and indeed she did have something of a reputation for having the litters of every tom in the Clan, and in her old age she still enjoys looking back and reflecting on the joys of being a mother, and listing off all the names of kits she had. She can be somewhat given to short-temperedness at times, snapping at apprentices who don’t bring her her dinner quickly enough, but she is also motherly and affectionate, and loves having the queens bring their kits around for one of her very enjoyable if largely fictional stories. Rainstar was never close to her before, but as time ticks on and she realises her mother may not be around for much longer, she is coming to regret it and visits the old she-cat more often.
